File this under "books to read before bed" (which is when I read it) - no conflicts, not much of an arc, just nicely written vignettes about remodeling a villa, the Tuscan countryside, meals, words for things in Italian, etc.
I loved reading this book - it transported me to Italy. I loved the idea of taking the risk and following your dreams too, doing something that is quite scary (that many people would think is crazy) and throwing yourself at it and giving it everything you've got. The food, the food, the food! I was jealous, and inspired.

A nice, well written travel memoir that gives you a really feel for the place.
I saw the movie for this first and really enjoyed it, so when I saw the book at a library book sale, I snapped it up.
I was actually surprised to see how much the movie had diverged from the book, which is kind of a shame, because I liked the story in the book better than the movie (the whole divorce thing?? Didn't happen in the book).
I liked the story of how she and her husband created a home for themselves in Italy. It's a book that makes me want to travel (and makes me very hungry--kind of like watching the food network when you only have Ramen in the house)
