*I’ve been wanting to read this since it came out, even though I vaguely remember book one. All I know is that I enjoyed Bloodleaf and had to find out what would happen next. I was not disappointed! Fascinating to see in my Bloodleaf review, Princess Aurelia wasn’t a favorite of mine. But jumping into Greythorne without rereading Bloodleaf, I forgot about those things I didn’t enjoy about her. In Greythorne, she’s loved and lost and is dealing with grief and trying to move on. She’s grown a lot.

*We learn more about the magic in Greythorne and so much history about Aurelia’s family. It was eye-opening and made the book much more emotional than I expected it to be! I loved learning more about Onal and Rosetta and how their past contributed to what was occurring now.

*Zan and Aurelia’s relationship is complicated and deadly. But Aurelia wants him to live…yet he wants her to live…it was breaking my heart because they couldn’t be together. Their love story doesn’t take over though and they are hardly ever together.

*This story was always moving and I read it in what would have been one day (but I have a new puppy…so I read it in 2 days). It had enough action, and plot twist were so great, I love how everything was connecting. It was an emotional roller-coaster.

It's hard starting a sequel with little memory of what happened in the first. But it all eventually came back to me in pieces.

I loved that every character in this book had a purpose. They each filled a role that tied in perfectly with the overall plot.

I enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to the next.

a really underwhelming and extremely poorly written sequel. if this wasn’t hastily written i contemplate how. a true and utter mess. all descriptions of the leaves on the forecast floor type of book. exteeeeemely slow paced even next to the ex title holder Bloodleaf. i spend so much time, money, and effort reading these, i was trying to give it a chance towards the end but it was a goner.

This book was amazing! I absolutely loved it and I still can't get over this book, it is only the day after I finished but I don't see myself being able to get over the journey & shock this book took me on! This is my favorite read of the year alongside Bloodleaf.

We pick up weeks after Bloodleaf left off and so much has happened since then. Conrad is going to be crowned king, Aurelia is dealing with the aftermath of everything that happened at the end of Bloodleaf, she doesn't bring up Zan. There were some huge revelations at the beginning of this book that shocked and broke me, and don't worry, this isn't the only part of the book that will leave you that way. I do not want to mention the revelations because spoilers and it would take away from the journey. The tribunal is back and worse than ever with a new leader. So much stuff happens within that you will just want to rush through the book.

The end of the book was probably the wildest part with so many twists and turns. I am so sad that this book is over and the wait for Ebonwilde is going to be rough.

Was this worth the wait (through launch delays and cover changes)??? YES!!! One of my most anticipated reads this year, and I kind of worried that there might be sequel syndrome, but nope, Greythorne held up. Definitely a good follow up to Bloodleaf, and one that will be a good reread in the days before Ebonwilde is released.

Zatímco první díl byl velmi příjemným překvapením, Temný kvítek mě docela zklamal. Ačkoliv to mělo několik překvapujících momentů a zvratů, obsahovalo to tolik zbytečných kliše a trapných zápletek, až mi to fakt lezlo na nervy.
