Hard to get through (partly bc the language was really advanced, partly because of the plot). This presents a super-idealized creation story for how modern Brazil came about and how Brazilian identity was created - a loving and tragic union between colonizer and colonized. Was interesting to see this "creation myth" & helped me learn more about the construction of Brazilian identity, but did not enjoy.
