The world-building, the character development, the imagery and the detail were all phenomenal in this book. Sure, sometimes it's slow and I question if it had to be 800 pages, but I enjoyed reading this in three days.

Looking forward to the next book in the series whenever it comes out.

I loved this book! It was wonderful, and characters were wonderful to read about, and the way the POVs were written was interesting.

4.75/5 only because I won't read it again

The complexity of the world building in this book goes beyond anything that I've read before and it was breathtaking. To the different places to the relationships between regions it felt so realistic and epic.
Of course I fell in love with all the characters, specially Ead. She brought a new perspective to the history of this world and was able to show how history can we coerced over time to fit a certain interests of a few. I also loved her patience with everyone that was ignorant to the hole story, it's remarkable how she didn't think less of them as individuals even when they didn't share her beliefs.

Niclays is the only character that didn't steal my heart or even my sympathy. His story was sad without question but I never forgave him for manipulating Tané and basically thinking about himself for so long.

Could benefit from additional and repeat explanations of various imagined words, a large cast of characters and their connections to one another, and the histories and geographies of several fictional countries. Some relationships and events (specifically, what should have been the climatic battle) were more or less convincingly fleshed out. Nonetheless, an engrossing escapist read that kept my interest for weeks.
