I listened to the audiobook version and the narrator does a great job of transporting the listener straight to the outer Hebrides. But there's a device in this story -- of an elderly man with dementia -- that doesn't work as well in audiobook as I think it would work in print. For this reason, I liked this second instalment in The Lewis Trilogy less than the first. Still good, though. Peter May is an excellent story-teller.
