Thankful to this book for ending my 2025 reading slump. I was really struggling to finish a book this year but this one hit all the marks.

Avery is a wonderfully relatable FMC whose vulnerability and strength are something to aspire to.

Finn is further proof that the very best men really are written by women. Patient, kind, loyal, understanding while simultaneously willing to stand for what he does and doesn’t want and also doesn’t shy away from pushing the boundaries.

This book is a wonderful portrait of two hurt people, who choose to work on themselves so they don’t hurt other people. I loved it! 💕

Now on to immediately reading Lennox & Dex’s story!

I really really liked this book, it was exactly what I needed with everything going on in my life currently. Avery was such a relatable FMC, especially as someone who is plus size herself, all her internal struggles with her body and image hit a bit too close to home, in the best way possible. While I would have liked a bit more buildup between our main characters I adored their chemistry and Finn was absolutely delicious. Spicy scenes were excellent and I am now on the search for a boudoir photographer. Also, fuck Palmer.

see, this book is enough reason for me to get out of booktok entirely. this was such a waste of time i dont why i even finished it i thought it was gonna get better but apparently it does not.

fmc definitely did not have any other personality except for her insecurity and well i get it the first few chapters cos we all have our own insecurities but for the whole 400 pages ??????? and she only redeems herself 5 pages towards the ending????

I SHOULD ALSO MENTION HOW ICKY THE PET NAME IS, Queen ?!? this is the worst pet name ive ever encountered in a book, everytime he calls her queen i wanted to peel my skin off. and the spice isnt even that great very underwhelming and enough proof as long as the words dick and pussy are in a book, ya booktok eats it the fuck up.

I really enjoyed every bit of it. I thought I was going into another one of my many trashy spicey romance novels (which I still thoroughly enjoy) but this was better than that. Avery had so much character development, I loved the self love journey she went through. The banter and fluff was just perfect. Genuinely a really wholesome and entertaining read.

I have never related to a character more in my life. As a plus size woman, her struggles with her body and the critiques of others hit home! Also her relationship with her best friend while growing up, is exactly how it went with me and my best friend.

I love that Finn helps Avery to love herself while they are falling in love. I’m kind of convinced I should do a boudoir shoot now. 🤷🏼‍♀️
