What a creative take on the dystopian future--a regression to the Wild West with its reliance on wagons for travel, gun fights for survival, and plenty of bigotry. I appreciate the protagonist's character arc, but I feel that if the story had been longer, her transformation would have progressed more naturally. Normally I am a huge fan of novellas, but this is a case when I wish the story was longer.

I was always going to enjoy a Western about sapphic librarians. Nothing has ever been more on brand for me.

Near future "wild west" lesbian librarians! After wars deplete the economy, society and roads as we know them crumble. In this short novel, we meet a roaming band of librarians who go from town to town, bringing books and trying to avoid trouble. Fun, quick read!

This read like YA. Cool concept but everything was obvious and surface-level with no character development.
