Hilarious and so much fun to read, Dream a Little Dream is the perfect pick-me-up that will leave you smiling from ear to ear.

Dream a Little Dream is without doubt my favourite of Giovanna Fletcher’s novels so far. I thoroughly enjoyed Billy and Me and You’re The One That I Want, but Gi’s third novel topped them both.

I completely fell in love with Sarah, the main character in this story. She’s hilariously funny and so bloody relatable, more so than any of Gi’s previous characters for me. I was on her side the whole way through, laughing with her and crying with her too.

I loved watching Sarah grow from the first page to the last, learning to face heartbreak head-on. The concept is fun and quirky, yet manages to stay believable. I was worried that the idea of dreams becoming reality could get very silly, but you’ll find that Dream a Little Dream is far from it.

Giovanna manages to describe dreams in a realistically bonkers way, too. She perfectly demonstrates how they can make no sense at all but complete sense at the same time.

This one’s a bit raunchier than Gi’s previous novels and she isn’t afraid to swear to keep Sarah authentic and realistic.

I’d highly recommend Dream a Little Dream if you enjoy chick lit. It’s easy to read whilst managing not to be light and fluffy, touching on important themes that will stay with you for a long time. It’ll make a brilliant holiday read or a pick-me-up on a rainy day.

While I enjoyed this book, there are some things I disliked. Like the slow start and the swearing. Honestly, I don't really mind the latter, but I just feel it never actually adds anything to a story.
About halfway through I started to enjoy the story more. I was expecting to love this as much as I loved Billy and Me, but I don't. It was a ridiculously high bar for me to set, and nearly impossible for this novel to reach it, so that was quite unfair. I just had high hopes, and am little disappointed.
That being said, like I mentioned, after the halfway point I started enjoying this. It deals with completely different things than I'd normally read about, so that was a nice change.
As always, Gi's writing is wonderful, and I do like that's she's experimenting and trying out new things (like the swearing) even though I personally don't enjoy reading that as much. I'm certain others will love this novel for certain things I didn't like, and more.
In the end, it was a good book. I give it a 3.5, which is odd and I've never given that before. But I don't want to give it a 4 star rating, but I also think it redeemed itself too much for a 3.

Cute cute book. Got a good moral to the story about what your dreams can teach you and I really enjoyed it :)

Real review coming back soon, but this was just pure fun exactly when I needed it. Can't wait to read more by this author down the line!

Dream a little dream is an entertaining book, which definitely had me laughing at the jokes, and feeling horrible for the characters in their worst moments, but overall it will not be my favorite.

Like I said, it is an entertaining book, and it was an easy and quite quick read but some parts were not as enjoyable to me as others.

the dream sequences in the book although often funny were at some points just a little to strange for me, and they threw me a bit off guard. Some smaller aspects of the plot were rather predictable to me even when it seemed they had to be a big reveal, which was a bit of a bummer.

But overall I did enjoy the book.

This was lovely :)

Truth is, I was expecting a very romantic story, but it ended up being about so much more than that. It was great to read about Sarah's journey, not just through her romantic life, but also with her (pretty phenomenal) friends, family and her job. Everything was developed so well and it felt very...organic (I think that's the word haha). I was rooting for her all the time, and I'm very pleased with the ending.

I'm also very happy to see Giovanna's improvement in her writing. I liked her first novel, but I did have a few issues with the execution. This book was almost perfect and I couldn't stop reading!

I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I did not expect to love it as much as I did!
The focus is not so much on the romantic aspects of the story (although there is romance, don't you worry), as it is on Sarah's journey as a twentysomething. It feels very real and familiar, even though there are some dreamy scenes ;)

Definitely worth a read, but make sure you read it on a day off, because it's unputdownable!
