I was kind of excited about this book when I read the summary of it but was kind of left disappointed in the end. I had never heard of another book taking on this topic and I thought it would be really good. The beginning was good especially when the snow kept falling and falling and wasn't going to stop anytime soon. But towards the middle and right before the climax (snow coming through the roof of the school) and then at the end I kept wanting to read more to figure out if the kids would be saved.

Didn't really like Scott (main character), thought he was kind of annoying and acted like a girl rather than a strong male character. Also the other students weren't very well developed and I felt like I still really didn't know them at the end of the story. Also I felt like the kids weren't really smart with trying to stay warm too.

Also, what happened to the teacher that left? I'm assuming he died but I dunno.

I thought this book had a lot of potential but kind of fell.

It was a decent book, but damn that ending was just crap. I want to know if everyone got saved, if the storm ever ended, how much people survived that sort of thing. -2 stars for this crappy ending.

This was pretty good, and moved along really quickly! My school librarian recommended this, and it was pretty good!

Being someone who was born and raised in new england, I could relate and understand to the characters original reactions to the snow storm (that it was nothing) I've never found myself caught in a snow storm that couldn't be handled, sure I've heard about the blizzard of 79...who hasn't? My mom always talked about what it was like, how revere beach looked etc. Personally, I've always loved winter, I still do; but this book left a bitter taste in my mouth and I will always second guess snows storms now.

Interesting at times but could have been shorter. The ending was too abrupt.

I actually really liked this book. I only gave it 3 stars because the story ends on such an ambiguous note. I am the kind of person that likes to know what happens to each character introduced or mentioned in the book and that didn't happen at the end.

I enjoyed this book very much. It was an easy read, but it is kind of dark. I don't think I would read it again, but I'm glad I did read it.

Solid pick for lovers of survival stories and Roland Smith. I think the story idea is so great that Northop was allowed to slack on execution some (which he did, but I don't care because, again, the story idea). This one is kind of begging for a companion book/follow up with THAT ENDING.

This was a good book, although it ended rather abruptly. I wanted more resolution.

A real page turner - tension from first to last. What could have been stereotypical characters become believable and engaging, and their situation (trapped for days in a high school during a blizzard) becomes nailbiting. I would have loved for one more chapter to finish it off, but it's still a darn good read.
