I read this at the recommendation of one of my students. I found the main character’s annoying but authentic, and the implicit lessons to be a negative example. She is a huge liar - and she gets rewarded for lying to her parents and her principal. Her mess ups are easily cleaned up without any real repercussions.

Like "Wimpy Kid", I feel like this series is running on fumes. Nikki's antics and irresponsibility are no longer that funny. Hopefully Max Crumbly will bring some new life to it all.
