I loved Aron and Faith. Aron starts off being very arrogant, but as the story continues he softens. I really enjoyed Faith. She was a very clever FMC. She was able to navigate her circumstances with a smart attitude. This was a fun read, and honestly I was kept on my toes. I also enjoyed the world building.
This book was an absolute JOY! I was absolutely terrified from the start of the book for the seemingly imminent rape, torture, or other misogynistic thing that was going to happen - but that’s just the world setting and Faith spends a lot of time kicking that narrative to the curb. She is a surprisingly relatable character who is downright hilarious. I was impressed with how relaxed she was sometimes dealing with a totally different world but a little suspension of disbelief.
Aron was exactly what I would think a god would be like and his character arc was also just such a pleasant twist. I also absolutely love the world building. I thought this was going to be more of a smut book with a side of a plot but it was SO much plot and gorgeous descriptions of fantasy places and people. I absolutely loved it and I still have a book hangover. 4.5.

Good slow burn and it eventually finds its footing with worldbuilding. It would be a much tighter story at around 400 pages rather than over 600. I am enjoying the world and will read the next.

Audiobook (audible) - what a spectacular adventurous story of an earth girl being pulled into another world when their gods are ascended to learn a lesson from their father. Faith, gets collected as a tart ‘whore’ and taken to the gods temple for presentation and sacrifice to the gods. The god of battle and storms Aaron actually shows up and is not happy with what he sees going on. Faith volunteers as his ascendant and they grow close while working their way across the new world to kill the other Aaron ascendants so he can ride back up to be a full god once again. The story has so many amazing character arch’s and unexpected turns and troubles making this a story to be read again and again. The world is so well developed without taking away from the storyline or the romance.
