Read this if -

• slow-burn romance is your thing.
• you like an adventurous read.
• you are a fantasy romance enthusiast.
• you love a guy who has eyes only for his leading lady.

Before reading the author's note at the very end, I'd already known that RD must've spent a lot of time planning out this entire book. The details are literally screaming at the readers that they are a result of lots of brainstorming and working overtime; fortunately for me, I'm so happy that I enjoyed reading this!

This really is a treat for all those who loved C.L Wilson's The Weather Mages series and Kristen Ashley's fantasy romance. RD female leads are my favourite since she makes sure that even though they all have diverse personalities, they're still lovable, making their heroes fall head over heels in love with them.

This is a full-length book which begins when Faith, who loves to stay awake on weeknights to gorge on ice-creams (who wants to sleep anyways

Why aren’t more people talking about this book?? This was an absolute delight! I found the world and it’s mix of modern-Chicago-girl with old-fashioned-Medieval to be unique and refreshing. The banter and language was funny and enjoyable, though those looking for a more traditional fantasy story may find it jarring. The slow-burn romance is top notch and is just smutty enough without getting overkill. The book is long, but WOW was it a fun adventure!

Okay the cover of this book is just offensive. The reviews on this book are all "don't judge the book by it's cover!!", but absolutely do. I dont believe I've ever read a romance book this long, so kudos on the author for making it seem like a 300 page book. However, I did skip most of the book from about 80% on.
Faith is so annoying and once the two of them get together they're both annoying. I guess that's on me for reading romance when you can't deal with the super sappy coupling that comes after they finally get together. In my mind, the part between where they got together and the end of the book was way too long lmao.
There were just also a lot of inconsistenties in this book. Sometimes the people from this world don't understand Faith because of our awesome 21st century earthen lingo, but then they do get a lot of other things she says. There was just also much more room for world building and it's a pity that that wasnt taken. You'd think there'd be more of it with a 666 page long book. But oh well.

If you like a sexy book and like it to be very long then this one is probably for you.

This cover is a crime against humanity, the book deserves better.

It was an entertaining isekai/portal fantasy read, with consistent and easy-to-read writing, fun characters, interesting concepts and tons of adventure. Some things didn't make sense, some plot points were completely abandoned, the banter was a bit too cheesy for my taste and Aron’s dirty talk was cringe, but I still had a great time with it.

I loved Yulenna and the Spidae. In fact, the side characters in this book were far more interesting than the main ones. Faith was fine at first, I even liked her in the beginning, but after ~50% she started pissing me off with her over-the-top jealousy and neediness. Aron was too simple and flat, and I found him boring.

The story was enjoyable, but it could’ve been much shorter by cutting out a lot of the subplots that didn’t even matter in the end.

Overall, it was a solid 3 star read. Nothing special, but good for shutting off your brain for a few hours. I’m curious about the other books in this series, so maybe I’ll read them at some point.
