Okay so I cried. Awesome. I'm sad now.

Tons of parts I didn't care for but overall an emotional experience that's taking up a place in my chest

So beautifully written, you grow so attached and empathise with Leonard’s pain so much you read the whole book praying for someone to help him.

Oh. My. God.

This book has left me so conflicted (in a good way). It is so heavy and dark that I can feel the weight of the book seeping onto me. I LOVE how Matthew Quick didn't try and make us readers condone or like the main character, but he made us want better for the character. Leonard has gone through so much in his life time, and all he wants is to be appreciated and seen. His Mom, his friends, and his whole life let him down. It is so hard to keep on moving some days and that feeling of unending pain and melancholy is perfectly represented in the words of this novel. The only reason that this isn't in my 5-star reads is that I wished there was more closure for the ending. What happened to Leonard Peacock?
