I was really intrigued by this plot, but I just felt like it was so long, particularly in the beginning. To my defense I was reading it on eBook and that one was around 520 pages

An entertaining story but just not my favorite. The writing and narrators weren’t my favorite, but the storyline was interesting. Didn’t love the ending.

I do not normally read mystery thrillers, but I really enjoyed this one!

This follows Darby and Morgan as the main POVs. They have not spoken to each other for two years, and their group of friends basically dissolved two years ago after summer camp they were counselors at. One day the body of their science teacher is found who had been missing for the last two years ever since they went to a summer camp two years ago. The problem is none of the kids remember what happened that summer. Thus, starts an investigation the kids go on to find out what happened that summer and what really happened to their science teacher.

This is quite the suspenseful book. It keeps you guessing the whole time wondering who is behind everything, or who to even trust. The flashbacks they have in this book are intense and sudden. Kind of like a movie with the jump scares of flashbacks someone suddenly has or remembers. And when they are trying to piece together their memories, you wonder if they're all telling the truth since some secrets get revealed that they kept from each other, and so you're just wondering are they telling the truth with any memories they bring up?

It is a murder mystery, but it's also a coming of age story since it involves high school students who also experience first love, and may be second love, as well as how to trust and forgive those who may have wronged them.

I really enjoyed this mystery/thriller. I may try to look into reading more like this one! I received a free copy from BookSparks for their Spring Reading Challenge. Thank you!
