Not quite what I expected, but in a good way. I enjoyed the writing right from the beginning. The sentences are short and to the point. I can see how that might not be some folks’ cup of tea, but it worked for me in this book.

A fun, brutally satisfying listen while at work! A little bit long for the story it tells and surprisingly slow-paced in some areas which brought it down a bit for me. But overall a good introduction to the modern classic male fantasy character of Jack Reacher. The setting of small-town Margrave, Georgia was fun, and the author is great at creating horrible characters that the reader feels will be deserving of Reacher's brand of vigilante justice. This is the second Reacher book I've read (first on audiobook) and I think it will start being one of my workplace audiobook series, as it is easy enough to pay attention to while doing other stuff, which I can have trouble doing with other books.
