I really loved the first one; the second one was pretty good. This one was.... *not*. Unfortunately. Lara Jean just made me totally totally crazy here - I wanted to butt out of other people’s lives, and to stop trying to control/manipulate other people into going along with the overblown version of whatever she had in her head. And ultimately I just do not approve of her and Peter as a couple.

Another problem - Josh was pivotal in the first book and then he just vanishes. Genevieve was so crucial in Book 2, and she has disappeared here. It’s as though once those characters have served their purpose as the foil to LJ’s romantic visions, they just get discarded. That did NOT feel realistic in any way to me, and seems like poor plotting on the author’s part.

“i’ll never feel for another girl what i feel for you.”

“I’ll never feel for another girl what I feel for you.” He says it with all the certainty only a teenage boy can have, and I have never loved him more than at this very moment”

The reason I’ve managed to read all three in three days is because they’re honest. @jennyhan had depicted a typical high school couple who gave to work to keep their relationship steady. It may not be easy but their devotion helps to keep the faith and immerse the reader. They’re easily addictive and with another film on the horizon I am so not ready to give up the ‘To All the Boys’ series. Thanks Jenny for getting me out of the January blues!
