I didn’t like the ending 💪
But the story itself was interesting along with the characters
For a first novel this was very well written 😋

holy plot twist, batman. really enjoyed this one

This one kept me guessing until the end…

Looking for a book with an isolated island resort, mysterious deaths, and a determined travel influencer? Then this is a good pick for you!
The set-up was extremely interesting, with back-and-forth points of view from a travel influencer named Brooke and an American expat turned scuba instructor named Cass.
Brooke is visiting a Thailand island where Cass is one of several expats working at the resort who call themselves the Permanents.
I really enjoyed the first 80% of this book. The plot was interesting, with several different possibilities being presented, and the main characters were pretty well-developed. However, the ending didn't seal the deal for me. Instead, it felt like l'd been put on a wild goose chase and dragged through every single possible ending. There was more than one "final" twist, and any sense of cohesion seemed to disappear.
However, a less than satisfactory ending doesn't always ruin a book for me. If any of this book's weirdly specific traits caught your eye, you should definitely give it a shot!
I'd also recommend it if you're craving a tropical vacation and can't afford it!

This book was fun, but I continually felt frustrated by the fact that I knew I was specifically being misled. Now, I love a good unreliable narrator and bait/switch, but it drives me crazy when I am misled purely to carry the story. I definitely enjoyed the setting of the book though!
