This series continues to delight. It’s a joy to see the characters actually portrayed in living color. It’s also excellent to see the smaller adventures that our heroes experience, the ones that aren’t necessarily worthy of novel-length stories. This volume let us check briefly back in with a character from Foxglove Summer, which makes me appreciate the thought that everyone is putting into continuity.

I really like the little one page “Tales...” at the end of the graphic novels. One of these takes us back to the Night Witch herself, to let us see how she’s faring in her current situation (which you don’t fully learn about unless you read, well, Night Witch). Another gives us a brief, amusing moment that reveals how Beverley Brooke handles would-be litterbugs in her stream.

Recommended reading for Rivers of London fans!

I'm a convert to graphic novels thanks to this series. Really enjoyed this one, and great to see Dominic from Foxglove Summer again.

Black Mould is a lovely little side story for Peter Grant that you can read without having read all the previous stories. The premise is pretty straightforward, although there's more than meets the eye initially. The graphic novel format works really well, and despite having read five books before getting to the graphic novels (this is the third graphic novel) the characters are drawn/painted the way my imagination did from Ben Aaronovitch's descriptions.

Definitely worth getting these if you like modern magic wielding police (albeit in an understated and slightly embarrassed British way).

Rivers of London Black Mould is the third volume of the collected Rivers of London comic book. This volume consists of five collected issues of the comic book.

Set between Foxglove Summer and The Hanging Tree Black Mould tells the tale of Peter's colleague, Muslim ninja and possible trusty sidekick, Sahra Guleed, discovering a mould problem in the house of a friend. But what at first seems just a virulent fungus takes a far darker turn when the mould attacks Guleed, piquing Peter's interest and suggesting something far more dangerous...

Now this is more like it! Black Mould is probably the first of these graphic novels to really capture the feel of the main novels. Aaronovitch and Cartmel seem to have hit their stride here and I for one could not be happier. With echoes of Marvel's Venom this is the best of the graphic novels so far.. miss this one at your peril.

Decent peter grant graphic novel outing. Easier to follow than body work, which was good. The story works well and is appropriately thriller-y for this magical crime series :)
