I am still currently trying to read this book. Will edit once finished.
I feel this book drags, quite possibly I am not the ideal reader as I do already have a basic knowledge of the world via the fandom but... it's just dragging on and on for me.

Edit: I have now finished the book and it dragged for me, I can see the appeal if you didn't already know all of the plot from other sources.

This book is a childhood favorite. This year I decided to reread the whole series again and I definitely don’t regret it. The Sorcerer’s (or Philosophers ;) ) Stone is such a great kick off to a fantastic series. Following the young wizards as the learn about and navigate this new world they’ve found themselves in with new dangers they’ve never had to fight against.

Of course this book comes with its share of criticism. I haven’t reread the series since JK Rowling exposed herself. I noticed a lot of small things in her writing style that caused me to raise on eyebrow. Harry Potter is always worth a read, I just believe it should be done with a fair criticism of the author at the same time.

Pure nostalgia is what this book exudes.

Even if you’re a first time reader or a re-reader you can’t help but be enthralled by the world presented in this book.

Though I love this story, i feel like it must be stated that i do not tolerate its author’s actions and beliefs, and i try my best to separate the author from its creation.

i’m excited to read the rest of the series as it picks up momentum since the reason why it took me so long to read this books is that it was very easy for me to put it down ( up until the last two or three chapters as the climax approaches) but that is expected seeing as it is the first book.

Can’t wait to start the next one <3

I don't even know why I'm even reviewing Harry Goddamn Potter, the king of literature for kids. Let's be honest here, we all at least heard about it.
This book is, honestly, the second-most beloved by me in the series, the first begin The chamber of secrets.
I really enjoyed it, even though the plot twists weren't so wow, for me of course.
So 4.75 stars from me, and you'll probably read this book even of you don't want to, it's THAT popular.
