Odd screed in theatrical form

I debated whether or not I was going to include this on my Goodreads because I was reading this book as part of a Podcast that I enjoy about bad books. And let me tell you this one was bad. I'm honestly not sure what I just read. Between the barely-there story, the infuriating alliteration, and the extremely strange rants and rambles I am left completely baffled by what just happened. Who is Bob Honey? What the fuck is wrong with Sean Penn?

I've been in a reading slump for a couple weeks now and I don't think Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff was the book to break me out of it. Go figure.

I'm listening to this in audiobooks, and so far I've been really disappointed. I'm having a hard time continuing with this book. It's scattered, vulgar without necessity, and I'm finding the character very hard to "get". Maybe I'll return to it later.

I made a rule to stop reading free kindle books, and now I have to apply this to audible offerings. Weird stuff here. Sean Penn is a great narrator, but I think you need to be on some type of drugs to appreciate this.

This is a fascinating story -- an audiobook read (and perhaps written?) by Sean Penn. It's a searing commentary on the Presidential election in 2016. Timely, on point, and absolutely captivating. Plus ...it's free! -- there's a message here to share -- grab it!

Come on you asshole! Why are you wasting my time!

An odd little tale of a seeming simpleton who is not stupid but is a pawn in a bizarre plot.

This is a hard book to review. On one hand, the writing itself - beautiful use of alliteration, the vocabulary, the pacing - was great. I found myself wanting to rewind several passages just because I loved the way they sounded.

But there was too much on the other hand to make it an enjoyable experience. I struggled to finish this two-hour long audio book. First and foremost is Sean Penn's narration. I expected to be swept up in the story right away. I mean, Penn is a world-class actor who wrote the book he's reading. Who could have done it better? Unfortunately, he mostly just droned on in a monotone that couldn't stop me from zoning out regularly.

The voice of the computer breaking in numerous times in each section to provide what amounted to info dumps - even if they were brief - was annoying, to say the least.

Overall, I didn't care a bit about what was going on and by the time we got to the parts about Drumph and the election, I was counting the minutes until the book was over.

But it's another book toward my 2019 goal and only two hours wasted.

I know this is supposed to be satire, but I just did not get what it was about. I mostly just found it very strange. From the horrible rating it has I gather I'm not alone in this.
