I have still never watched Frozen and don’t know if I ever will, BUT I love learning about the behind-the-scenes process for anything creative. It’s interesting to read about the inspirations with characters and designs, the Sisters Summit, and all the beautiful architecture. Gosh, so much work goes into the process of these full-scale animated films like rigging lights, sound design, personalized body movements, themes, what you want the audience to feel, and trying to make everything as realistic as possible in a 3D- cartoon world. There’s especially ample planning in these Disney movies, which is why it sort of irks me when an adult animation think weed and sex-jokes are all it has to offer. Back on topic, I enjoyed the Art of Frozen.

This book was something I had been waiting to see since I had first started getting hooked on concept art books last year with 'The Art of Wreck-it Ralph'. The movie was stunningly beautiful, so why shouldn't the art of have been? I went into the art book with great expectations that the art would mirror the movie but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the art seemed to slightly surpass the film.

In the book, they explained how everything from colors to character designs to building designs and finally to what Elsa was originally going to start out as. I found them doing that to be absolutely perfect as they told pretty well of how it all came to being the hit movie of 2013-2014. I recommend this book highly to anyone I would meet if they wanted a beautifully stunning book such as this to either continue or kick-start their own art book collection.

They listed their influences from other Disney movies such as Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio. The artists' styles varied beautifully and basically this book shows everything a fan could want and more. This book was absolutely perfection.

Beautiful art here, though they definitely would have had an easier time creating crowds if they'd recognized that not everyone in Norway has white skin.
