OK, Ruby's a bit annoying, but her attitude and unpreparedness for the situation is kinda realistic. She's only 15 after all. We can't all be able to save the world and be mature at that age ;) Full review to follow.

It was a fine enough book until page 255. Where I'm a big animal person and that scene killed me! This is read for the Tome Infinity : to save the UK!

Ok, look. Is this the most brilliant apocalypse novel ever written? No. BUT after reading book after book of teenagers who inexplicably have all the right skills to survive an apocalypse, it’s really refreshing to read a character who is so poorly equipped got the apocalypse and to see her try to fumble her way through, because let’s be real-that’s how most of us would be, anyways.

I did not enjoy this book at all. The main character is wretched. Her personality is horrible. I know there are many teens who are self-absorbed and oblivious to everyone but in the case of this story the main character remained oblivious to the point where she should have died a hundred times but was so lucky she survived. She brings nothing but pain to the story. I was interested in the storyline because poison rain has so many possibilities but I was beyond disappointed.

When I picked up this book, I expected an apocalyptic story dripping in the horror of an item that is so essential to life-water-being deadly. Instead, I painfully dragged myself through choppy dialogue, a main character so annoying and entitled that I wanted to claw my eyes out, and a plot that was more shopping and looting than surviving. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

This book took me a few months to read. Definitely had to get back into reading after a very interesting couple of months. I'm glad I finished this book and can start a new one, but these characters grew on me despite the somewhat sad storyline. I might read the second one down the road! We'll see :)

I read over half of this book in one day, but it was really freaking me out and it wasn’t good for my mental state so I took a break for a couple days. I already wasn’t in the best mental state, and then reading this book I started thinking about what if this happened and I or ppl I love were in this position and it just wasn’t great.
I finished it tho, and the premise is interesting, and today when I finished it I didn’t spiral at all so I’ll probably read the sequel in the next couple days as long as I’m in a good headspace. Probably won’t keep the books tho, I’ll put them in the little library or something.
Also idk if that’s just how some 15 yr old girls are but Ruby’s kind of a bitch, like she was so mean to Darius just bc he’s a nerd, and her friend group seemed like the “popular kids” who don’t really care about anything except looking cute and dating ppl. And I get how that’s just kind of Ruby’s character, and she’s 15 and like everyone she knows is dead and she’s stressed, but her pov is just a bit obnoxious.

Let me just start off with saying, my friend gave me this book and warned me that it was stupid as all heck. I started reading and will say that the first two chapters do start off good (not the best but good). The main character, Ruby, is such a careless jerk and while her mom and little brother have died she is more worried on getting her darn phone. Not to mention that when her stepdad ,Simon, passed away the next thing she does is run outside with no protection not even caring that it could rain. She then uses all her water supply to dye her hair and give herself a tan. She then plans on driving to see her real dad in London. It talks about how cramped the roads are and everything so even talking about the driving was just the absolute stupidest stuff to add. I stopped reading at page 179 because it just horribly sucks and is painfully long. The back of the book says it cost $10.99 U.S and honestly it should be sold at the Dollar Store for the way it is written. Honest review.
