'My Evil Mother' is the perfect length for such a quirky story. It was a fun read, even if the general concept wasn't anything new, and small details throughout characterised the protagonist's mother as someone truly eccentric. Atwood's writing style still holds strong even in a short fiction format, and I think I would really like to read more of her work, having only read The Handmaid's Tale and The Testaments.
LOVED this story and love Margaret Atwood. I chuckled out loud. It was clever and funny and wacky while still having real things to say about mothers and daughters. It struck all the right chords. You could read this short little story in under an hour. It is worth you time.
