My Evil Mother: A Short Story
Margaret Atwood

Such a sweet book. It had such a good flow to it and I think it's amazing how in-depth Margaret went with explaining/building the main character's life and relationships in 32 PAGES!!!! The book is completely different to what I assumed it was going to be like due to the other works I've read from her so far. I'm really looking forward to reading some more of her short stories in the future.

I love Margaret Atwood's writing so I read this short story when I needed something to keep me busy - I enjoyed it! Mother/daughter stories hold a soft spot in my heart and I loved the turning tables perspective in this one. I am also a big fan of the 1950s setting which is outside of my typical gravitation toward novels, so I will definitely seek out more books that take place during this era with this in mind.

I would definitely read the sequel!

Short but sweet story

This story explores one of the most beloved themes by Margaret Atwood: mother's relationship. Her deep and realistic style intimately explores the daughter's changing relationship with her mysterious mother. Enjoyable short reading.

just okay. i expected more from atwood tbh

Well written and entertaining...but not sure what I just read

I enjoyed this short—some directness which I haven’t experienced in Atwood novels so far.
