It was ok for a quick read. Was weird when the transition happened to speaking to the father. I had to go back to see if it was still same story. Life made full circle yes, however, was her mom a witch?

Even if it’s only approximately 30 pages, this story has succeeded to portray 3 characters with such depth that others lack in a 300 pages book. The mother daughter relationship is the main focus for this plot, but the reader also gets an insight into the father daughter relationship. The Mother is quite a presence between her peers and her daughter never quite gets it until very very late in life.

i love short stories, i love witch stories, and i’m usually pretty fascinated by 1950s suburbia lore, so i was drawn to this while scrolling and it was a really fun read. it’d be cool if this was expanded into a novel!
