This book was…odd. There were a lot of really weird misogynistic tones, sometimes starting to border on transphobic territory—though not outwardly.
Most of the dialogue and storytelling were very “I felt” “I saw” and lacked a lot of substance.
The last third and Cam & Isla’s relationship are definitely this book’s saving grace. Though the writing was still a little flat, the tension and angst in this third made it much more engaging. I also finally felt myself caring for our leads, which had been missing for the majority of the book.
