Compelling story about the complicated relationship between racism, love and hate. Would have liked it more if only the author wouldn't interrupt (& thus break the flow of the narration) so many times

It was an interesting read with some meaningful discussion of identity and bias in the workplace/academia. A great lesson in not to accept less than what you deserve. I just felt like the ending was a bit abrupt?

hybrid fiction and memoir dealing with racism in academia. truly so upsetting to witness the cycles of racist nastiness and administrative gaslighting

A crime novel wrapped in reflective and personal essays - in the crime novel there's a way out, there's a solution to the crime. So it's a meta book. I enjoyed the crime novel tremendously but at the end I didn't completely but the plot!
