I liked this book more the second time around. To be honest, I had forgotten that I had already read it.
I really loved this book! It was really funny (but Sophie Kinsella wrote it, so i'm not surprised) Lexi was a really cool charcater, because she didn't really have a set personality at first, and got to see the building up and changing of her personality. I would say what the book is about, but it's already up top.

Cute and light, like all her other stuff. I think her non-Shopaholic books are better. This is one of those.
This book so reminded me of the old tv show Samantha Who with Christina Applegate. I loved that show and I loved this book. Lexi had an accident and has now lost 3 years of her life. She wakes up in the hospital to find she is married to a millionaire, a successful boss, and now looks incredible. This book was a great read that I just did not want to put down. It was a little predictable but a great book to escape with.
Not great. There was too much going on plot wise so a lot of the threads were dropped and picked up randomly, and it did not seem authentic or realistic. As well the characters are all amazingly annoying and self-centred.
Don't ask me why I'm reading chic lit, I have no idea myself. But you see, Sophie Kinsella is the author of the book that inspired Confessions of a Shopaholic so I figured it couldn't be bad. The book is light reading I guess but not much of a story and the protagonist is really annoying.
Lexie Smart is another helpless, unambitious, shallow and vain girl who wants so much from life and does nothing to actually get up achieve it. Chic lit books are full of them. They are supposed to be the cheery, relatable girls-next-door, who are laid back and easy to get along with and not bitchy but what they actually are is a bunch of unaspiring, unambitious lot who have no talent or specialties or anything they care about strongly. For the sake of making these characters 'fit in' or 'relatable' the authors make thoroughly unremarkable, lazy and unmotivated characters who are content to drift along in life and are never actually struggling hard to do anything or make a difference. Then something miraculous happens to them to push them forward in life and readers can feel good about themselves even if they've never achieved anything. Oh, and typical to her lot she needs a strong guy to help her sort out everything.
The memory loss bit was unconvincing. I mean, she conveniently forgot everything starting from after the life changing moment she had? Nice. Overall, a funny, humorous read if you can get past the weak protagonist and poor storyline.

I thought this was too predictable, even for this author.
I'll never forget. Tears and laughter. Fries with French mustard. A broken glass leopard. And a love so great, it reached the sky with a whole garden of sunflowers.
Although I don't like this kind of books, I really enjoyed reading this one. The memory lost subject fascinated me, and it's written in a funny way.

Short Review: I really like Kinsella's books, they're light and fluffy and i just eat them up. But this book. Bore. I didn't like the MC, she was ugh, she was trying too hard to fit in and please everyone. Girl you lost your freaking memory, don't let them walk all over you. The husband Eric was a okay, he was nice enough trying to help her, but he was never around and left her with her "friends" most of the time. It was very sad when her old best friend now hated her. And the "dark secret" was the obvious one, but i like how the MC took the info and took the high road about it. Eh, it was alright but different than what i expect from Kinsella.
