I was expecting the author to trivialize amnesia, but I'm glad she didn't. A very entertaining read.:-)

Such a wonderful book--it was fun and what a great heroine!

I fell in love with Sophie Kinsella after reading this book. I borrowed it off of a friend, and I loved it so much that I finished it in two days. I love romantic comedies and Sophie Kinsella's novels contain non-traditional scenarios. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who is looking for a romantic comedy, but also something about self-discovery, and loving your self and where you came from.

This book was cute. It is very similar to "The Vow."

"When twenty-eight-year-old Lexi Smart wakes up in a London hospital, she's in for a big surprise. Her teeth are perfect. Her body is toned. Her handbag is Vuitton. Having survived a car accident—in a Mercedes no less—Lexi has lost a big chunk of her memory, three years to be exact, and she's about to find out just how much things have changed.

Somehow Lexi went from a twenty-five-year-old working girl to a corporate big shot with a sleek new loft, a personal assistant, a carb-free diet, and a set of glamorous new friends. And who is this gorgeous husband—who also happens to be a multimillionaire? With her mind still stuck three years in reverse, Lexi greets this brave new world determined to be the person she…well, seems to be. That is, until an adorably disheveled architect drops the biggest bombshell of all.

Suddenly Lexi is scrambling to catch her balance. Her new life, it turns out, comes complete with secrets, schemes, and intrigue. How on earth did all this happen? Will she ever remember? And what will happen when she does?" (From Amazon)

I rarely like an amnesia story and unfortunately Kinsella does not change my mind with this story.

I absorbed this book via audio. The writing was very well done, relatable and clear. I'm not personally a fan of f-bombs in writing, and swearing in general is lazy when you're writing. It's like saying 'poop' or 'vomit' - sure you get a reaction, but why am I paying $35 for something I can easily do myself? Authors and screenwriters say 'that's how people talk', but then people say 'that's what you hear in films'. *eye roll*

Anyway, the premise of the book is great - woman living so-so life hits her head and wakes up to find that three years have passed and she is now living the dream. I loved the scene when Lexi was in her swanky apartment, turned on the stereo and did the Robot, to the horror of her (unremembered) husband. Lexi can't remember the changes she had to make to fit into her new life, and when she finds out what kind of person she's become, Lexi wonders if those memories are best forgotten.

Given the fine writing and character development, I wasn't happy with the ending. I felt the husband was deliberately written as bland, the cliched 'handsome guy' who's a handsome guy so we don't have to care about him. When dealing with him, Lexi came across as immature (can't stand kissing him - REALLY???)and lost some of her likeability. Still, the story is told well.

A bright, funny and witty romance from the Queen of Romance, this is a book to treasure. Lexi, the heroine, is sparky and interesting, and her journey to rediscover her memory and her love life is a page-turning one. I particularly loved her sister Amy and the adorably mysterious Jon. Great stuff, as ever!
