I loved this book. It was a quick, thrilling read and really makes you think about what truly makes you happy
This audio book was an easy, light listen that kept me interested enough that I went through it very quickly. I was pleasantly surprised that a plot point that I assumed was coming never came, and the mystery at the center of the story (why and how did Lexi change so dramatically?) was interesting and genuinely suspenseful. However, this is the third Kinsella novel that I have read, and I am tired of her stupid heroines. Through the bulk of this book, Lexi, the narrator, was infuriatingly dumb. I realize that she needed to be dense in order for the plot to move along as it did, but come ON.
Also, I'm finding that Kinsella's heroines are too materialistic for my blood. Yes, they tend to learn that there are more important things in life, but not before either putting themselves into financial ruin over the purchase of scarves and handbags (Shopaholic), or thinking they're living the dream life because they live in a huge loft with a closet full of designer suits (this one). Although her novels work as something fun to read or listen to that doesn't require much thought or even full attention, I think I'm done with these slightly dumb, materialistic characters.

13 Going on 30, but with amnesia and adultery. Adultery features prominently in this book, which is not cool with me. I couldn’t even get into the romance because of it; so I didn’t like or respect the 2 male leads or the heroine. Hard pass on this one, but SK is a prolific and excellent author, so one stinker is okay.
Not as good as some of her other works but still a fun read.
Very good for what it was, which is hugely entertaining and exceedingly girly fluff.
I thought this books was really slow to get going, which I understand the plot of the book would cause such a slow pace, but it only really picked up and got interesting in the last one hundred pages. I feel like the author restrained herself in the more emotional parts of the book, causing the writing to drop the reader just as they are pulled into Lexie's world and the emotions she's feeling. Overall, if you can handle a slow pace the past third of the book is quite good.

Have you ever fell and hit your head really, really hard? Have you ever lost your memory from it? Ever wake up and realize that you lost a couple of hours? While that’s terrifying enough, imagine if you lost a couple of years. That’s the situation Lexi finds herself in when you read or listen to this book. Her whole world is completely different and even she is a different person altogether. This book’s strengths are definitely in character development. Sophie Kinsella always writes these very relatable main and supporting characters and this book is no different. While I can’t attest for how the book was written (since my copy was an audio book) I can say that the audio book was very well done for the most part (females trying to speak in male tones kind of off-puts me but I dealt with it) and it seems like an easy read for anyone.
However, I did have issues with this book. I felt that the pacing was a bit weird. It jumped from a slow paced book to a fast paced one towards the end of the book. It felt like Kinsella wanted to end the book fast, but she really had enough material to make a duology or triology out of the books. Another complaint of mine was that I felt the plot was meh. No one really seemed to get that losing 3 years of memories means that you don’t remember what happened in a phone conversation last week. Also Sophie seems to have this issue where the main climax of the book does not happen until the very end of the book. The book also ends without wrapping up the biggest conflict in the whole book and it doesn’t give any finality of Lexi’s story.
While I enjoyed the book for the most part I did not like the ending of it. It was a decent contemporary read though and other people might like the overall message about it, but it just wasn’t for me I’m sorry to say.
