I wish I had this book growing up to get me through middle and high school. There are so many inspiring lessons to take away from here and some of the poems even changed the way I view the way I look at things. This is a great book for girls to read in general and I think it would be a great way for parents (mom and dads alike) to sit down and actually read poems to their kids and have discussions about them. They make you think about your views and the world's views. That alone could lead to some very interesting conversations. Great read!

I hadn't read a book of poetry in a while and came across the poem 'Fire' online amd knew I had to read more of Nikita's work. I laughed and I cried while reading these poems, and would highly recommend any woman to read these and share with your sisters and daughters.
