Achei genial a ideia desse livro!

Its mostly a bunch of theories about the Percy Jackson world, nothing too exciting. Still, its worth a look.

Being a PJO/HoO and Greek mythology fan, I felt that I would love this. So I finally finished it and honestly I thought it was boring. Sure there were essays that I liked (such as Jenny Han's Eeny Meeny Miney Mo(m): Picking Your Very Own Godly Parent) but I felt that reading this was like a chore or school homework I had to finish.

Well, I did finish this book.

However...I dragged my ass and skimmed through the second half.

This book is a collection of essays from other authors about PJO series. It wasn't THAT bad, really. In fact, I learned cool stuff about Greek mythology through this book and I found some parts to be really funny. But I thought the Greek mythology sorta backfired and it started to get very tedious reading about all of them it was impossible for me NOT to skim. I doubt younger readers would find this fascinating enough...

Thank you Smart Pop Books and Netgalley for sending me the galley, this doesn't affect my opinions at all.

I always like these essay collections about popular books a lot less than I anticipate. A lot of the essays were interesting, but there were a couple that I really didn't agree with (which is fine, i just didn't really enjoy them). I also felt like the authors weren't really sure if they were writer for young readers or for adults, so the tone of the essays was kind of odd.

Not the best for the young reader... but it was definitely interesting and a nice informative read. Makes me want to read the series all over again!

This book is full of insightful essays on the Percy Jackson series. The vast majority of them were interesting to read, but a few I did not care for as they seemed sort of random compared to the others. The author’s introduction was insightful. My favourite part was the glossary at the back and the essay about the Rags to Riches plot line of the novel.
