Rosewater was a great book, primarily told from the point of view of the sensitive, Kaaro as he investigated the mystery surrounding the deaths of other sensitives.
The Rosewater Insurrection expands the scope of it's POVs, and is better for it.
Another excellent read from Tade Thompson. I'm looking forward to the finale of the trilogy later this year!

Exciting, full of intrigue, original & compelling, great fun to read. I was delighted to realize that Aminat was (one of the) main POVs in this book, she's fantastic, though I admit I missed Kaaro (he still plays a part). The audiobook narrator was exceptional -- distinct accents and voices for the various characters, great performance.

Band zwei erfordert die Kenntnisse aus Band eins - ein Einstieg mittendrin ist hier kaum möglich. Wer die Geschichte also noch nicht kennt, sollte sich erst den Vorgänger holen. Für alle anderen geht es nahtlos dort weiter, wo wir aufgehört haben.
Hier geht es denn auch Schlag auf Schlag. Diesen Titel während der aktuellen Lage zu lesen, fühlte sich oft sehr unbequem an, war aber genau auch deshalb goldrichtig. Persönlich nhat mir dieser Teil sogar noch ein Stückchen besser gefallen als Teil eins. Wir machen riesige Fortschritte bei Plot, Figuren und Weltenentwicklung.
Auch ist die afrikanische Art der Sci-Fi einfach anders als die bekannte amerikanisch-europäische und deshalb für mich nur schon grundsätzlich sehr faszinierend. Thompson bringt neue Ideen ins Genre, neue Charaktere und Bilder. Gut, dass der Golkonda-Verlag uns diese Geschichte zugänglich macht.
Schade, dass es noch fast ein Jahr dauern wird, bis der nächste Band übersetzt ist. Das Warten wird erneut eine Qual. Aber besser so, als ein Schnellschuss. Lieber die gute Qualität der Trilogie aufrechterhalten. Sobald möglich, bestelle ich mir den Abschlussband vor und hoffe, dass der Autor es schafft, die Geschichte genauso gut weiterzuerzählen wie hier.

If book one of the trilogy can be a bit confusing at times, it’s worth it if only to get to book 2, where the pace picks up and the story gets so much more exciting. Just great sci-fi/fantasy.

Great continuation of the Rosewater trilogy. Very much looking forward to the final instalment, out in October I think.
