The book uses a really interesting structure to explore aspects of english identity and social history - and tackling topics like racism and Brexit. Very insightful story-telling

I found the book engaging and I liked the concept of the vignettes based on key moments in British history.
I liked the reflexion on change and the Royal Family.
However, I feel that the author can be a bit on the nose with linking characters to Serious Issues.
The ending was very moving though
