My first Iron Man Graphic Novel I ever read... And I loved it!!
description
The only knowledge I had of Iron Man, were the first 2 Marvel movies and some episodes of the classic animation series.
The first part of the story 'Mask of the Iron Man', had a plot that sounded familiar. Your lifeless creation gets hits by lightning, and suddenly it starts to act on its own with its own will.
But that didn't matter for a bit! I was hooked from the beginning to the end.
It was action-packed, and even focused on Tony and his difficulties in handling his alcohol addiction and show how he really feels to his loved ones.

The second part was a short story where Tony finds out his late friend, Ho Yinsen, has a whole group of followers. The Sons of Yinsen!
As always, Tony joins the group in an attempt to stop an evil drug-lord.
The story itself wasn't that special, but it was nice to see how the legend of Yinsen lives on...

Comics used to be weird man. This is actually a pretty great collection of early 2000 Iron Man story lines that really set the tone for the character going forward. From the suit becoming sentient (due partially to Y2K no less) to Tony's original captor being alive and well these books are full of phenomenal storytelling without the material seeming dated.

I loved the Mask in the Iron Man arc, but this got progressively worse as it went along. Still worth it for that opening story though.
