If you're looking for a book to teach you how to draw expressive comics, this ain't it. Eisner is a master of anatomy and as a study of his work it's good but aside from a chart of exercise challenges at the end of the book it's really not that helpful. It's also rife with stereotypes that remain unexamined, as well as pseudo-psychological ideas about emotions that aren't supported by science.
That the book is released posthumously probably doesn't help, but I'm honestly not sure what it would have looked like if he did manage to finish it himself.

Maybe this would be good in teacher led studies, but on your own? You're better off finding something else.

Sort of disappointed in this book; was hoping it would be more of a "how to."
