Breed for the Beast is a standalone, mafia romance.
I have read many of Siggy Shade books and I hate to admit that it didn't fully grasp me like their previous books. I kept asking myself "what the heck is happening?" It would jump from scene to scene without much build up. However, the plot was very intriguing. It gave me Beauty and the Beast vibes and I loooved that aspect. Annnd the Steam!! Legit, fire!! There's NO doubt, Siggy comes up the most awful villains that keeps you reading and just can't help to see what's coming to them. And Daddy Lugh, mmm...mmm...mmm. Definitely, top tier MC. And Helen, probably the most realistic and very likable character.

Surprisingly good story
I read the synopsis of this book and it interested me right away. I was expecting dark, dirty, some story and plenty of spice. There was actually more story than I expected, which was surprisingly good. Shockingly, I actually expected a bit more spice so I think because I went in with that expectation I was a little disappointed.
I like the FMC, she’s just trying to survive, and she did what she had to do. The MMC left more to be desired. For someone who is supposed to be such a scary figure, I felt kind of bored with him. I think the FMC, with the right tools, would’ve been better in the mafia.
Like I said, the story was actually pretty decent, but it moved a little too fast. I think more time needed to occur between events and feeling development. I get insta-love, but, I don’t think it’s exactly what I was expecting when going into this novel.

What an amazing book! This author, blew me away. I am so in love with Helen and Lugh I didnt want this story to end.
