I might be biased because I've been a fan of the author for ages - probably since like 2017? And I am so proud to see her create her own witchy universe. I think this was a pretty solid debut. It wasn't flawless by any means, but it did surprise me by taking an entirely different direction than I would expect from a "cozy romance". I also found the main character very relatable and I loved the vibe of the whole book.

I have mixed feelings about Rewitched as I wanted to love it but it kinda fell flat.

I think this book either needed to be longer to justify the romance or needed to just cut it altogether. I think the romance was the weakest bit of this book. It was not fleshed out enough to make me feel invested and I definitely did not feel like we got to really know Rune particularly well. It felt quite insta-lovey, which makes sense as the book takes place over just a month.

I think the story in general just fell a bit flat. It was pretty predictable for me - most of the big twist was pretty easy to see coming. Not always a bad thing, especially in a cozy fantasy book, but didn't add much.

The other parts of the book were stronger, especially those dealing with family and self worth. I liked the messages in this book, even if I didn't love the execution.
