Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood is a cosy fantasy about a young witch learning who she is, what truly matters to her, and how to be confident in her own magic.

There were moments that really drew me in, but also times when the pacing slowed and I found my attention drifting. The story often had the feel of a Disney Channel Original Movie—fun and charming in places, but sometimes a little too simple.

I found the main character frustrating at times. Some of her feelings and reactions felt unnecessarily stubborn or didn’t seem to have much basis, which made a few key moments less impactful.

I didn’t predict the twist, which I enjoyed, but when it was revealed it felt almost obvious in hindsight—more of an “oh, of course” than a real surprise.

Overall, Rewitched was a pleasant, easy read but nothing particularly special. I’m glad I gave it a try, but I don’t feel intrigued enough to continue with the series.

I really wanted to love this one because it’s right up my alley. Maybe it’s because I did the audiobook? I dunno. It was just boring and I felt like nothing was happening.
