Easy to read until it isn’t. I love how most of the book is written almost plainly (maybe concisely is a better word?) and then out of nowhere switches over to abstract prose when describing certain (painful) events.

4.5-5/5stars! Wow! I really enjoyed this book. I don't know what to say about it right now though. I need to think about it for a bit. Expect a review on the blog in a few days!

I didn't like the prose, and was not interested in reading a story this hard-hitting and raw at the time.

Quick read and plunge into the life of a teenager from an Indigeneous community in the northwest. It was good and there were parts that were quite poetic and well-written.

Beautiful and bleak. Having lived in norther Saskatchewan this work really resonated with me.
