It’s was ok. Felt pretty shallow, most of the characters lacked any real development, and the MFC was just WAY too sheltered? I finished the book, but didn’t really feel like I care about what happened in the end.

A little too many cuss words for my taste, but the sweet friendships, motley cast of characters, celebration of libraries, and clean romance made this a great light read

I *really* wanted to like this book, but it was so challenging to stay involved. The premise of the story was SUPER cute, and I loved the themes of community. But June, the protagonist, was SO cringey and frustrating- a lot of the miscommunication and awkward in the book felt super unnecessary and avoidable.

There were a lot of moments where the book felt very preachy about the value of public libraries, which I understand and agree with, but it was to the point where it distracted me from the story.

The ending was very heartwarming and gave it a feel-good warm-fuzzy vibe, but the overall writing and plot was just not for me.
