An absolutely delightful read.. I don't know why i took so long to start this book because once I did, i couldn't pit it down.. habbbaaa
We’ve all heard horrible stories, where men are horrible and end horrible. Each chapter a man’s audacity never failed to expand my reality of how crappy men can be. Although this book is about the atrocities of men it also shines a light on how resilient women, black women are(with an emphasis on Nigerian women since they are the heroines of this collection). They will build a life for themselves. They conquer their demons and plant empires on top of misfortune. They have courage. This collection also calls attention to how soft these women are. They loved selfishly and wholeheartedly, dare I say fiercely too. Men are in the spotlight but we also see how the madness of a Woman can hurt another woman; how influential a mother and a friend can be. For some this collection may be too graphic or the lingo may throw them off, to them I would say I understand why this book may not be for them. However it would be a pity to set this book aside. And to those who wonder why Nigerian men get a bad wrap look no further than this book.
I listen to lots of books by African authors, but I did not take to the narration at all. Disappointed.

If you’ve lived in Lagos or Accra at any point in time you’ve met a man like the ones described in this book. This was so funny and relatable but also tackled some very prevalent socio-cultural issues women deal with here on a daily basis. There some stories that confused me a bit and sort of ended abruptly. But yea… all these brothers need to be jailed for being trifling! 😂😂😂
I didn’t realize that this book was a collection of mini stories, but that’s probably on me. They were very well written and several of them had really fantastic stories/characters. I tend to not love that style of writing just because I get no closure from the story, I just feel very let down. Nice idea though.

I didn’t finish because I lost all desire when I completed the first story. The first story was good don’t get me wrong, idk I just couldn’t enjoy the second. I believe my expectations were too high?? And the husband in the first story truly pissed me off.
