If you like erotic novels, this one may be for you because every short story contains sex in some way shape or form and that’s not really for me. I did find some of the stories funny and well written but otherwise not one of my favourites
The way the author was able to set up the stories was amazing. I really enjoyed several of them, but after a while they all started to blend together and be a bit repetitive. I love the POVs. Some storylines were amazing, others were quite simple.

this is certainly not my usual kind of read and i appreciate that it’s outside of my comfort zone. it’s a really quick read full of spice - a collection of short stories exploring the madness of the men in Lagos through horrendous dating experiences and relationships filled with betrayal. i spent the entirety of reading this collection rooting for women, holding my breath, rolling my eyes, and admiring the author’s wittiness

I enjoyed this quite a bit. I really am just obsessed with any and all literature that reeks of Nigeria, especially when it comes to the overall tone of the prose and the dialogue. What I’m trying to say is that Nigerian colloquialisms really just warm my heart. The only issue I have with this book is the fact that it gets a little repetitive at points. All men in Lagos are mad but the man madness explored in this collection is infidelity, and it got to the point where I could predict exactly where the stories were going. Is that because I have real life experience with rubbish Lagos men, or is it because the stories just felt somewhat formulaic? Probably a bit of both, to be honest. Still, this is a debut book and I’ll definitely be checking out the future work from this author.
