Effectively this is a 4.5 to me. I don’t love jumping around from different characters POVs but I do see how this made sense for the story’s progression so I was able to manage small. I am yet to read a singular Nigerian author who doesn’t write like their life depends on it. Humorous but touching on difficult subjects in such a sensitive way. I defs enjoyed this book more bc I read it in Naij.
Hilarious and deeply affecting. All the stories felt familiar in that we all know these things happen in real life. My favorites:
Beard Gang : This concept is soooo… But the story is saying less about sexuality and more about character
The Anointed Wife : thank you for “our daddy in the Lord” that phrase hasn’t ceased to crack me up since. I also love consciously delusional women.
Òdè-Pus Complex : I could have fixed him… Lesson clearly not learned 😭
International Relations : oyibo sef dey craze
The Gigolo from Isale Eko : this man is a certifiable sociopath but I mean…did he not meet all his goals? 🤷🏾♀️

It's a really nice book,made me fall in love with reading
Kuku's collection of short stories is a great reminder that some of these men are MAD! Honestly, the collection wasn't as diverse as I wanted it to be- but then again, the title told us exactly what to expect. I wished some of the stories had more depth to them but overall I would recommend this to anyone who is in a reading rut and looking for a good laugh!
