(I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to author David Khalaf.)

The Sixteen Burdens wasn't a bad book, it just isn't entirely the book for me.

It didn't grab my attention, as it was a little slow, I found I lost interest in it and put it down quite often.

Apart from that the story was very well written and had a few interesting ideas.

OVERALL THE SIXTEEN BURDENS IS A GOOD BOOK, just not entirely for me.

The basic concept of Burdens was quite interesting, but the story itself failed to grab my attention in any way. The characters were very unsympathetic, and the gratuitous violence (mostly against women), gore and cannibalism did not help either.
