This was garbage. Boring, pointless, shitty garbage. I am so pissed that I forced myself to finish this shit, but it was for a work review, so what can you do?
Let's start off with probably the most important question in this review: what was the actual FUCKING POINT of this novel? The answer? FUCK IF I KNOW!
The characters were boring as fuck, the "mystery" wasn't mysterious because anyone who has read a piece of fiction in their lives will be able to figure out how it ends, and it wasn't thrilling at all. I ended skipping whole pages towards the end because NOTHING MATTERED. Seriously, once you figure out who did it, NOTHING mentioned afterwards matters, you're literally just waiting for the dumb as fuck main lead to figure everything out. Speaking of our leading lady...
HOLY FUCK, this character was stupid! She never listened to anyone and went and investigated this shit on her own despite possessing the level of stealth as a car alarm. And she was so fucking unprofessional! She drank at least two glasses of presecco when meeting a client JUST BECAUSE THE CLIENT ASKED! It's not like she forced her, she just made a snarky remark and boom! Emily's gettin' tipsy with her client! Professionalism AT IT'S FINEST! Not only that, Emily's mom is CONVENIENTLY knowledgeable in the SAME SHIT that this one woman's husband hoarded in a storage locker. Is this a terrible thriller novel or a terrible B action movie? Must be the former cuz all the action (if you want to call it that) happens in the SECOND TO LAST CHAPTER. Oh, and in case you're curious, none of the other characters are engaging/interesting, they're just there to take up space or be tangentially relevant to the plot.
All of this is bad enough, but then the novel commits one of my personal cardinal sins regarding literature in the very beginning...having way too many FUCKING storylines going on at once. Seriously, within the first few chapters, the readers are:
-given Emily's fertility woes and conflict with her husband's hoarding (the fertility thing disappears pretty damn quick, though)
-the first client Mrs. Murphy and her "dead" husband's storage locker (that whole subplot has the DUMBEST fucking reveal at the end)
-the other client, Quinn, (aka so obviously suspicious in the beginning she may as well has a neon sign following her that read "SUSPICIOUS MURDERER")
-Frank's court cases (that only BARELY have any relevance to the plot)
Do you SEE the problem here? What was the point in having this many plot lines going on at once, especially since only two of them are relevant to the actual story? Really poor decision that made this horrid reading experience even more headache-inducing.
And there you have it. Do I recommend this novel? FUCK NO. This is easily one of the worst thrillers I've ever read and wouldn't even dream of recommending this to someone, even to kill time (pun intended). Don't bother with this one, there are plenty of better ones out there.

I enjoyed this book about a professional organizer who finds herself implicated in a murder. However, the clues were way too obvious about who was responsible for framing her.
Emily Harlow is a professional organizer who is called to help an elderly woman, Mrs. Ruth Murphy, after the death of her husband. Then, on the same day, she receives a call asking her to help a young woman, Quinn, clear the clutter of her life when her husband isn't home. Both of these happen when her partner, Becca, is unavailable.
Emily is suddenly the number one suspect when Quinn's husband is assumed missing and then found dead. Emily turns to her husband, Frank, a lawyer, to help her when questioned by the police.
Emily begins to play detective and figures out the mystery.
I thought this novel was light, but it was a quick, and mostly enjoyable read. Perhaps the author could work on not putting so many obvious clues in the next book.

This book was ok. A little slow to start, the mystery doesn't begin for a hundred pages. The ending wasn't too obvious. It was a nice, easy read.
