I liked this better than the first one and connected better with the characters overall, but this series still doesn’t wow me. The story, romance and characterisation were all solid if not spectacular. I felt the ending was rushed and we got very little of the “what comes next”. There were several loose ends - I really would have liked to have heard more about the subplot with the FMC’s brother. I did enjoy the use of romance tropes as a way for the both the main romance and the FMC’s writing career to progress.

I am a hole for Lucas Martín, a Lucas Martín girlie, a stan, his biggest fan. We all need a Lucas Martín in our lives. But this book was a little lacking for me. The writing was a little more elementary than TSLD and there were some parts that didn’t fit in the plot. For instance, the whole Olly bit. I feel like that could’ve been reworked
,
him being a stripper because of a girl he wasn’t even dating didn’t make any sense.
Also, I wish we would’ve gotten more about Lucas’ situation, but it just seemed kind of tertiary.

Definitely adorable. I absolutely loved the two but the cousin was the real standout. I almost want to hear her love story. But yes this love story is fantastic and the shower scene was all the steam I need. It was slightly too long and too much tension but that’s a preference thing. I’m always preferring more smut than too much tension. Oliver’s story didn’t really seem necessary unless a spin-off is coming.
