This book was much slower than the previous two and almost less interesting. But when all the pieces finally came together in the end, I was quite content. Honestly, I should have rated it closer to a 4.5 but I liked it too much to do that. It keeps you guessing up until the very end.

everything about this series, especially this book, is to die for. the worldbuilding is incredible, the characters are multi-faceted and every single one is understandable if not loveable, and the relationships... god. the relationships. you want friendships? romantic relationships? situationships? familial connection? this series has it all baby and it has it in SPADES. my only regret is that i'll never be able to read this for the first time again. i cannot recommend it enough!!! i need more people to talk about this with before i explode of excitement. thank you naomi novik for reinvigorating my love for fantasy and first-person povs. you're the hero we needed not the one we deserved
