I really loved this. It raised some interesting ethical questions about humanity’s intrinsic nature selfishness, and how we help combat it, with different characters taking different approaches. Ends vs means etc. I loved the conclusion to El’s arc too. And as an added bonus this series has the most wholesome sex scenes.

I didn't see many of the bombshells coming, but overall, I enjoyed it. I do hope there will be a follow-up in some years to check in with El and Orion, et al.

The Scholomance ended with a bang and a heartfelt everything works out way that felt a little bit in opposition with its tone but was satisfying nonetheless. I loved the story of this book and I think the world opening up was interesting but didn't have time to fully realize all of its different settings. The characters remain exciting and worthwhile though the dialog was pretty difficult to follow sometimes.

The Golden Enclave is a worthy conclusion to Novik’s unique and imaginative Scholomance trilogy.
In this instalment, we follow El as she leaves the school behind and embarks on a whirlwind journey around the world’s enclaves in a desperate hope to save as many people as she can, entangling secrets and learning the shocking truth behind the enclaves.
Everything that made the first two books great is here—El is still her amazing self, she’s sarcastic, she’s funny, but most importantly, she’s relentless in pursuing what’s important to her and refuses to give up hope, even when giving up seems like the rational thing to do. I absolutely love her; she’s definitely the highlight of these books.
I was engaged by the plot too. We explore a lot more of the world in this one, and the pace is steadfast. We move from enclave to enclave, meeting other wizards and exploring this magical world. Novik manages to keep the momentum going from chapter one of the first book to the last page of this installment. These books never stall, never meander. For some, it might be a problem, because you do not get the chance to catch a breath with this book, but I actually liked how urgent and restless everything feels.
The ending to this novel is quite open; Novik definitely leaves a door open for possible sequels. I would appreciate a tighter ending, but nevertheless, I enjoyed the conclusion.

This whole trilogy is amazing. The twists were well established and also make you view previous plotpoints in new lights. The magic system is some of the most fun Ive seen
