I LOVE this world, but struggled so vehemently with this book.
Spoilers?: The balance of this book, to me, is: way too many slow dull moments, unnecessary sexual encounters, and ignorant unimportant characters speaking. Against a few amazingly written heart wrenching moments of love, discovery, and choice.

Easy to devour as usual but overall the novel didn’t feel very … well conceived or constructed, lowkey. I understand that it’s difficult to make Systemic Change a fun, exciting novel, so I completely understand why some parts of this fall flat, but overall, I don’t think I’m unjustified in saying that not a whole lot happened in this novel. It felt very repetitive and El honestly wasn’t enough of a tsundere delight to carry a pretty lacklustre plot. The allegory also sort of falls apart at the end. Also, why are there so many cameos??? Liesel just randomly becomes a major supporting character, which I do love, but then people like Yi Liu and Adhya are just taking back seats and then random people just make appearances, people we may not necessarily care about, and it’s just ???
